The school “does a phenomenal job curating practical experience.” As one student explains, “The ability to pair you with matches in your field and help facilitate networking connections is one of its greatest strengths.” Students frequently cite the residency program as a standout feature of Elon Law. The program requires students to work full-time during one trimester of their second year. The residency program “allows your résumé to stand out against others and more importantly, it gives you an opportunity to experience what being a lawyer means in all of its different settings.” The opportunity to learn in a real-world setting helps students feel prepared for professional life after graduation. As one student elaborates, “Elon places a big emphasis on hands-on learning, so it isn’t scary to step out into the real world. Most of us will have had actual experience by the time we apply for jobs.” Another big draw for the law school is the shortened timeline for graduation. Students can complete the program in two and a half years. While students appreciate the accelerated timeframe, they also note that fitting all the requirements in can be a source of stress and that classes can “fill up quickly.” However, many students agree that “Elon Law's curriculum and professors are academically challenging in the best way.”
