Career Experience
I recently retired from full-time teaching with over twenty years experience. During my time as an educator, I taught secondary English in grades 7-12 as well as English Composition I and II at the college level. At the college level, I have taught classes on campus, online, and in dual enrollment high school English classes. My experience includes all levels of grammar and mechanics, literature and analysis, research, and essay writing.
I Love Tutoring Because
I enjoy the opportunity to help students with specific skills in a one-to-one environment. I feel that this gives the student the chance to ask the questions they might feel uncomfortable or embarrassed asking in a large environment. It also allows the student to focus on the issues that might get overlooked in a classroom setting due to numbers and time constraints. I especially like the satisfaction and sense of accomplishment both the tutor and the student feel when the student understands a difficult concept.
